Ok you’ve got yourself some henna body adornment! Now what? A few hints to help make your henna last :::

  • Allow the paste to remain on the skin for as long as possible. The longer the paste stays on the skin, the better the henna will stain the skin and the longer it will last. Try to even keep it on over night. Once the paste is dry, it won’t smear and shouldn’t stain clothes or sheets. Do not wash off the paste. Flake it off or use an oil such as olive to remove.

  • Within the first 24 hours after application of the henna and once the paste is no longer on the skin, put a little oil over the stain to help it set. Any type of oil will do: olive, coconut, baby, etc ~ anything to act as a protective barrier. You can continue to put oil on the stain after the initial 24 hours as it will help to make the stain last longer.

In the mixing of my henna I use fresh, organic henna powder. It is mixed with black tea, essential oils, and sugar.

The henna powder I use is safe and natural. One should never allow ‘colored’ henna to be applied to the skin. Natural, safe henna is not colored. Colored henna usually contains chemicals that could potentially cause a severe skin reaction. I have never had anyone have a reaction to the henna I use.

Please don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns you might have.
